The IALPA executive recommends accepting the proposals, which include a 17.75% pay increase for pilots over four years.

This decision follows a series of informational meetings held by the union this week to prepare members for the vote. The pay dispute has already led to significant disruptions, with two weeks of industrial action resulting in 610 flight cancellations—573 pre-planned and 37 on-the-day cancellations—affecting approximately 84,000 passengers.

Aer Lingus Pilots’ Industrial Action Suspended Pending Ballot Outcome

In light of the proposed pay deal, the IALPA executive suspended industrial action pending the ballot’s outcome. Despite this, Aer Lingus had already preemptively cancelled flights through Tuesday, maintaining this decision even as full service resumed yesterday for the first time since the work-to-rule action began on June 26.

The Labour Court’s recommendations include structural adjustments to pay scales, the removal of a crewing agreement that provided for extended summer leave, and the cancellation of a debt owed by pilots to the corporation in connection with that agreement, in addition to the pay rise.
