The shocking and brutal attack on three children and a woman near a school in Dublin city center, has caused violence and chaos in Dublin. It caused severe injuries to a female creche worker and a five-year-old girl. Consequently, it triggered a series of events that unfolded into a night of mayhem and destruction. The aftermath of the initial attack saw a group of protesters gathering at the scene, but the situation quickly escalated. Hundreds of people took to the streets, attempting to break the garda cordon. A bus and a Luas tram were set on fire as the chaos worsened as night fell.

Garda Commissioner Drew Harris described the scenes as “disgraceful,” confirming a total of 34 arrests for public order offenses overnight. Out of these, 32 will appear before the courts. The extent of the damage is substantial. Where 13 shops significantly damaged or looted, 11 garda vehicles destroyed, and three Dublin Buses and a Luas tram left in ruins. The motivation behind the initial attack remains unclear, and Gardaí are actively investigating the incident.
