And if you’re looking for a night of music, banter, and good old-fashioned fun, mark your calendar for December 16 when The Camembert Quartet takes the stage at The Whale Theatre. I assure you that it’s an evening not to be missed. 

2. Laughs Galore with Irish Comedy Titans 

Feeling the winter blues? Greystones have the cure. Brace yourself for not one, but two comedy giants. On December 15, the hilarious David O’Doherty will be at The Whale Theatre, ready to tickle your funny bone. And if you can hold onto your laughter until December 29, David McSavage and his show ‘If That Makes Sense’ are set to deliver devilishly good humor. 

3. Jingle All the Way with Festive Musicals 

The little ones in the Garden County are gearing up for a musical extravaganza. On December 8 and 9, the Mermaid Arts Centre will present the yearly Junior and Youth Musicals Christmas production, which will include scenes from Hamilton, Six, and Annie.’ It’s a family-friendly affair with live music, ensuring everyone gets into the holiday spirit. 

But that’s not all. For the first time ever, Elf the Musical is being presented in Wicklow by the Studio 55 Dance Academy in Arklow. Carol concerts abound, from the Suantrai Female Vocal Ensemble’s debut Christmas concert in Arklow on December 14 to the Bray Choral Society leading Carols by Candlelight on December 16. The Blessington Millennium Choir, Voices of Ukraine, and the Wicklow Male Voice Choir also have their own festive offerings. The Mermaid Theatre keeps the festive vibes going strong on December 17 with a gathering of traditional artists. Together, Síle Denvir, Andrea Palandri, Pádraic Keane, and Caitlín Nic Gabhann will present an evening of unique performances influenced by Ireland’s extensive archive holdings. 

In addition, for the grand finale on December 21, one of Ireland’s most avant-garde live bands, Scullion, will play songs from their most recent album, “Time Has Made a Change in Me,” as well as old favourites at The Mermaid. It is definitely one of the many enchanting Christmas events in Wicklow that you’ll attend.
