Another fire has broken out at the former Crown Paints site in Coolock, north Dublin, marking the fourth blaze at the site in as many nights. Mary Lou McDonald Urges Government to Restore Order at Crown Paints Site

Mary Lou McDonald, the head of Sinn Féin, has pushed the government to take the community’s concerns seriously. Speaking to Newstalk, she stressed the need for dialogue and engagement to restore order. “We now need to restore order, we now need to move from condemnation to engagement. We need to find solutions,” McDonald said.

She acknowledged the community’s anger, fear, and frustration, emphasising that the entire community, not just protesters, needs to be included in the discussion. “By the way, when I say the community, I do not mean just those protesting, I mean the whole community needs to be engaged,” she added.

The ongoing situation highlights the urgent need for a constructive approach to resolve the issues facing Coolock residents.
