The SOHR noted that 13 explosions were heard around scientific research facilities in Masyaf, which are known to be associated with pro-Iranian groups and weapons development activities.

Syria’s state news agencies initially reported five dead and 19 wounded, citing medical sources. The attack, carried out around 11:20 p.m. local time, was reportedly launched from the northwest of Lebanon, with Syrian air defenses managing to intercept some of the missiles.

These strikes are part of a broader trend of increased Israeli air raids in Syria, which have surged following the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7. While Israeli officials rarely address specific strikes, they continue to emphasize their commitment to curbing Iran’s influence in Syria. Recent attacks have also targeted pro-Iranian fighters in other Syrian regions.
