Arrests and Seizures in Broader Operation Targeting Dublin Drug Networks Linked to Kinahan Group

At the scene, a man in his 30s was taken into custody and is currently being questioned. This arrest forms part of a broader operation targeting organised crime networks involved in both wholesale and retail drug dealing across west Dublin.

Further searches in the Ballyfermot and Crumlin areas resulted in the seizure of approximately €2,500 worth of cocaine intended for street sale, along with €1,600 in cash. Additionally, a woman in her 30s was arrested and is currently being questioned.

The operation also led to the confiscation of six scrambler motorbikes, including models from Kawasaki and Honda. Drug dealers frequently use these bikes to evade police, posing significant risks to public safety and law enforcement due to their high speeds and the absence of helmets.

Detective Superintendent Tomás Gormley emphasised the severe impact of organised crime and drug dealing in Ballyfermot and Clondalkin, underscoring Gardaí’s commitment to dismantling these dangerous networks. The operation involved several Garda units, including the Serious Crime South Ballyfermot Drug & Detective units, the divisional search team, the dog unit, and the Dublin Crime Response Team.
