Extending the Reach of Ireland’s Hot School Meals Programme for Enhanced Educational Benefits
The Hot School Meals Programme aims to provide nutritious hot meals to students, ensuring they have access to essential nourishment during the school day. This expansion reflects the government’s commitment to addressing food insecurity and promoting the health and well-being of young learners.
Taoiseach Simon Harris and Minister for Social Protection Heather Humphreys will officially announce the expansion, underscoring the government’s dedication to supporting educational initiatives that benefit children and families.
In addition to the expansion of the Hot School Meals Programme, discussions on road safety will take place, highlighting the government’s multifaceted approach to enhancing the well-being and safety of all citizens. Taoiseach Simon Harris will convene with the Road Safety Authority and relevant ministers to address concerns regarding recent trends in road traffic collisions, emphasising the importance of maintaining progress in reducing fatalities and serious injuries on Irish roads.
This dual focus on nutrition and safety underscores the government’s holistic approach to supporting the welfare of its citizens, especially the youth, who are the future of Ireland.
