Irish Man, In His 60s, Dies After Falling From Thailand Balcony

An Irish man, who is assumed to be a tourist, died after falling from a balcony in a Thailand luxury hotel.

The 67-year-old guy was declared deceased early morning on August 19, Monday. The hotel is located in Pattaya, a famous tourist city in Thailand.

The man fell from the hotel’s 31st floor from the same hotel situated on Thailand’s eastern Gulf coast.

The Department of Foreign Affairs’ take on Irish man’s death

The incident was known to the Department of Foreign Affairs, according to their statement.

Their spokesperson said, “The Department of Foreign Affairs is aware of the death and is providing consular assistance”.

The department confirmed that any assistance needed in this situation would be delivered, but no more details were provided.

The local reports indicate that authorities are looking forward to the CCTV footage if any is available. It would help in determining the circumstances under which the incident took place and would establish the direction of the investigation.

Rescue workers were called for the removal of his body and the hotel workers kept the public out of the hotel area. At present, Thai police are actively conducting the investigation.

The local hospital was handed over the body. After the necessary examinations, the body would be returned to his family.
