Irish Woman Dress Caught Fire At Costa del Sol Wedding
A young Irish woman dress caught fire at the Costa del Sol wedding. The young woman is now in a Spanish hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The 29-year-old Irish woman dress caught fire when she was at the venue to attend her friend’s wedding. Her dress was engulfed in flames from the decorative candles at the venue when she went to use the restroom.

The fellow guests at Costa del Sol wedding called for help from the emergency services when they saw her semi-conscious at the holiday apartment in the eastern resort of Nerja.
A spokesperson from the Department of Affairs said that the staff is aware of the incident and would take care of the matter so that every possible assistance is provided to the young woman.
They said, “As with all consular cases, the Department does not comment on the details of individual cases”.
To provide her emergency treatment, she was initially taken to the hospital situated in Malaga. The operation was mandatory before transferring her to the burns unit at Seville’s Virgen del Rocio University Hospital.
What happened when Irish woman dress caught fire?
The alarm went off Thursday night, 19 September, just after the couple’s wedding celebration at the holiday apartments. It was almost midnight, around 11:50 pm, when the sound of the alarm came from the fire in Nerja’s famous Balcon de Europa viewpoint area where the apartments were located.
After the actual event of the Costa del Sol wedding, an after-party was organised below the terrace where the couple had tied the knot.
The young Irish woman is said to have suffered from third-degree burns as serious injuries are witnessed on her legs and body. 70 per cent of her body got serious burns.
The medics of her current hospital only revealed that her condition “remains uncertain”.
Till Monday, it was still unclear whether the police would be involved in an ongoing investigation. However, police are investigating the matter. Currently, it is assumed that the dress caught fire from the candles that the event organisers have placed all over the venue.
The incident is now addressed as an accident.
