Israel Vows Retaliation To Iran: Hezbollah And Israeli Troops Face-Off

Israel vows retaliation to Iran

Israel vows retaliation to Iran when Iran sent missiles to the rival country, which Iran said was a response to the assassination of Hezbollah leader, Hassan Nasrallah.

The Middle East has now officially entered the long-feared regional war immediately after Iran’s firing of missiles at Israel. At the beginning of this week, Israel launched its ground raids into Lebanon, for which Hezbollah pledged retaliation as Israel had also assassinated their prime leader.

Iran had threatened to take revenge  “with multiplied intensity”. Israel has exchanged the same threats, with the backing of its strongest ally, the United States, Israel said that it would face Iran attacks with a “tougher” backlash.

The new heights of longstanding regional war have raised concerns for the entire global community, including the United Nations.

Fatal consequences of Israel’s attack in Lebanon

Despite both of the regions being engaged in a ruthless war, the victims are still the same: the civilians. Women and children are among the casualties of Israel’s attack on Lebanon.

The so-called raids of Israel on Hezbollah strongholds do not justify the killing of civilians in Lebanon, as Israel has been targeting the populated residential areas, where they assume Hezbollah fighters, commanders and leaders are hiding.

According to UN experts, more than 1600 people have been found dead due to Israeli raids since 2023.

Israel’s attacks via ground raids on Lebanon

The Lebanese army has affirmed that Israeli forces entered their territory up to 400m on Wednesday and then pulled back “after a short period”.

The statement was corroborated by Israeli headquarters that it had launched ground raids into Lebanon, Beirut.

The southern villages of Odaisseh and Maroun al-Ras were targeted by the Israeli soldiers where the ground incursion began in Lebanon.

Mohammad Afif, Hezbollah’s spokesperson said that they had “had fought a heroic battle this morning”.

Lebanon’s attack on Israeli troops

Hezbollah confirmed that it had attacked Israel and repulsed their troops who infiltrated their town of Odaisseh in southern Lebanon. Lebanon said it “inflicted losses and forced them to retreat”.

One of the spokesmen of Hezbollah declared, “We assure you, the enemy, that this is only the first round. We are ready to sacrifice our blood and soul for our homeland by the grace of God.”

The Lebanese army is confident that it has sufficient resources to push back Israeli troops. It has enough fighters, weapons and ammunition to fulfil the purpose. The attacks on southern Lebanon have been disastrous that led the Lebanese army to take a stand now, he said.

Kremlin’s views on Israel vows retaliation to Iran

A statement from the Russian residence of their prime minister, the Kremlin, suggested that the situation in the Middle East has worsened and requires restraint. The Kremlin said that this could result in a “more alarming scenario” as it condemns the death of civilians on both sides.

The United Kingdom said that it “played its part” in defending Israel

UK’s secretary of state for defence, John Healey condemned Iran’s response with missiles to Israel and said that it has stood by Israel’s side. The UK said that Israel has all the right to defend its infrastructure as well as its people against these attacks.

Mr Healey paid his gratitude to the British forces who were actively involved in the prevention of “further escalation in the Middle East” that they did with professionalism and higher levels of courage.

The UK established the same stance in April when Iran fired missiles and drones at Israel, the youngest of the three troops of the UK, the Royal Air Force (RAF), which is charged with overseeing the air defence of the country, assisted Israel in shooting down some of the unmanned aerial vehicles coming from Iran.

Israel’s prohibition on entry of UN secretary General in their country

Israeli Foreign Minister, Israel Katz, clearly expressed that their country would not let UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, enter their country. He felt that the UN had failed to deter Iran’s huge missile attack on Israel.

Katz said, “Anyone who cannot unequivocally condemn Iran’s heinous attack on Israel does not deserve to step foot on Israeli soil”. He proclaimed that the United Nations supports the “terrorists, rapists and murderers”, referring to Iran and Hezbollah, which is entirely unacceptable to Israel.

Former Israeli PM, Naftali Bennet on Iran’s attack

Ex-Israeli PM, Naftali Bennet emphasised that they must plan carefully on how to diffuse Iran’s nuclear facilities and a decisive strike should be designed for the said purpose.

He said that since Teran has now exposed itself, it is high time to act now. Their central energy facilities must be crippled and their entire terrorist regime should be dismantled, he stressed.

Bennette further wrote that Iran would suffer the same consequences as those of Hamas and Hezbollah’s paralysis. Israel has all the tools and manpower to make Iran learn a lesson.

There is an accusation in Iran that it is endeavouring to develop atomic weapons. Tehran insisted that their nuclear programs were for peaceful purposes and not for harming civilians.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenie’s views on current political vehemence

Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei condemned the presence of American and European Nations as a support for Israel.

He said that their presence is the reason for the upsurge of “conflicts, wars, concerns and enmities” among the regions. Where the regions should have managed the matters themselves and should have locked a ceasefire deal, the interference of US and UK sides has diminished the possibilities of democratic solutions from every corner, Khamenei said.

It seems to be a dead-end now as Iran has long sensed the existence of US troops in the Middle East before the current official war, Khamenei added.

Gaza update

The death toll has reached 82 after Israeli ground raids and large airstrikes in the southern city of Khan Younis.

Israel did not comment on the strikes on Palestine where the locals informed that the ground forces have now pushed to three neighbourhoods.
