Israeli PM Told UN About Continued Lebanon Attacks ‘Until Objectives Are Met’

Israeli PM told UN

The Israeli PM told UN about its plans for continued Lebanon attacks ‘until objectives are met’. With this statement, Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu has negated all the chances of going for a 21-day ceasefire proposal by the United States, its closest ally.

Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli PM told UN, “As long as Hezbollah chooses the path of war, Israel has no choice, and Israel has every right to remove this threat and return our citizens to their home safe”.

He was adamant about the continued Lebanon attacks “until we meet our objectives”.

Mr Netanyahu was not satisfied with the United Nations’ role in the intensifying political affairs. He denounced it as a “contemptuous farce” and deemed its treatment unfair towards Israel.

He continued to say that until Israel is not treated fairly like other nations of the world and “until the anti-Semitic swamp is drained”, the United Nations would have the same image in Israel’s minds forever.

Further, the Israeli PM told UN and Iran that Israel would use all of its powers to attack it if it is attacked by them first. Israel sent this as a warning to Iran that it would reach any cleric-run state as it has vowed to fight Gaza.

He proclaimed, “I have a message for the tyrants of Tehran. If you strike us, we will strike you. There is no place that the long arm of Israel cannot reach, and that’s true of the entire Middle East”.

Delegates of Lebanon and Palestine exited the United Nations General Assembly room as soon as the Israeli PM took the podium to address. There was a mix of cheers and enraged roars.

The Israeli PM started off his speech with a disclaimer of “setting the record straight”. He said it because he wanted to nullify the lies and slanders that were used against Israel by several speakers present in the UN meeting room.

Before he made his way to the United Nations venue, protestors gathered outside his New York hotel for a protest to stop violence in Gaza as well as Lebanon. Hundreds and thousands of innocent lives are lost due to Israel’s obstinacy, for which the country has no remorse.

Before Israeli PM told UN about its future actions, US had other plans

Two days earlier, Joe Biden from the United States and Emmanuel Macron from France met outside the UN General Assembly in New York to discuss the ceasefire proposal regarding the 21-day ceasefire in Lebanon.

The White House confirmed that the ceasefire proposal has been shared with Mr Netanyahu whereas Israeli authorities said that the Israeli PM has abstained from responding to the proposal.

Earlier, the Israeli PM showed a positive response towards the US-led ceasefire proposal, however, Israel’s Foreign Minister clearly negated the fact. Israel has still continued Lebanon attacks, especially on Hezbollah strongholds, intending to knock out their strength and demolish a decades-old Iranian-backed movement.

Today, in the early hours, Israel again attacked Lebanon leaving 25 people dead. The news was confirmed by the Lebanese health ministry. During the night, Israel made use of its warplanes to begin bombing northern Lebanon with intense airstrikes.

Furthermore, a family of nine people were killed at 3 am in their three-story house in Shebaa due to Israeli airstrikes.

Yesterday, after the bombing of five provinces of Lebanon, a total of 92 people dead and more than 154 injured were reported by the Lebanese health ministry.

This week, thousands of people have been displaced since the war between Israel and Lebanon began, based on the reports of the International Organisation for Migration. The UN refugee agency affirmed the displacement of 30,000 people, the majority of whom are Syrians, who entered Syria from Lebanon in just the past 72 hours.

Nonetheless, Israel has made it clear that it will fight until “total victory”.
