Israeli PM Will Continue Discussions About US-Led Ceasefire Proposals
The Israeli PM will continue discussions about the US-led ceasefire proposals with Lebanon. Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu said that he appreciates US efforts, being its closest ally.
The Israeli PM showed positive progress towards the US-led ceasefire proposal after rejecting a similar proposal that came from its allies. The proposal involved a 21-day ceasefire on Lebanon which Israel did not agree to. The country wanted to keep fighting the Hezbollah fighter group “until victory”.

Previously, the United States expressed frustration as the authorities said that it was devised after extensive care and effort. Their National Security spokesperson expressed his disappointment since he thought that Israel would be supportive as there was a reason to believe so.
He said that the United States was in conversation with the Israeli PM and while doing so, it came an impression that they were supportive of the goal.
The Israeli PM will continue discussions, as was confirmed in his statement, “Our teams met (yesterday) to discuss the US initiative and how we can advance the shared goal of returning people safely to their homes. We will continue those discussions in the coming days”.
The political tension between the two regions escalated when the Israeli army bombed Hezbollah strongholds around Lebanon resulting in the deaths of hundreds of people. Hezbollah militants did not stay silent and retaliated with dozens of rocket fires towards Israel.
To alleviate the rising risk of war that could prove detrimental for the people on both sides, the United States, France and other allies proposed a 21-day ceasefire. Emmanuel Macron, the French president, and Joe Biden addressed the proposal during their meeting outside of the UN General Assembly in New York.
Israeli PM will continue discussions but it was a mistake to have rejected first
Mr Macron said that it was a mistake by Mr Netanyahu to have rejected the ceasefire proposal by the US, for which he now has responsibility for regional escalation. Mr Macron when met Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, he noted that Benjamin Netanyahu had been a part of the ceasefire plan himself and was in the preparation stages.
Israel Katz, the Foreign Minister of Israel declared yesterday that there would be no ceasefire in northern Lebanon. It is the region where Israel had just started heavy bombardment to disassemble Hezbollah strongholds and diffuse the decades-old Iranian-backed movement.
Although Benjamin Netanyahu was positive about contemplating US-led ceasefire proposals, his office issued a statement that it would continue fighting with full force in Lebanon after the PM left yesterday for New York.
Mr Netanyahu did not make any comment on the Israeli Foreign Minister’s statement who had strongly opposed the idea of a ceasefire for Lebanon. He only said that there had been a lot of “misreporting around the US-led ceasefire initiative”.
Benjamin Netanyahu emphasised that it supports the idea of encouraging the hostages to return safely to their homes. He praised the role of the US as a mediator that works as an advancement for stability and security.
Later today, Benjamin Netanyahu will give a speech at the UN General Assembly.
The joint ceasefire statement revealed that the Lebanese political situation has become “intolerable”. Nobody seems to pay full attention to the worsened situation in Lebanon, not even their own people.
The Lebanese health ministry confirmed several deaths and injured people across the country. According to the International Organisation for Migration, in the last week alone, 118,000 individuals have been displaced from their homes since the conflict between Israel and Lebanon began.
US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken wants the ceasefire deal to make progress so that civilians from both countries would reach back to their families with safety.
