The passing of former taoiseach and Fine Gael leader John Bruton has elicited an outpouring of tributes from across the political spectrum, with figures from Ireland and beyond reflecting on his enduring legacy of commitment, integrity, and service.

President Michael D Higgins led the chorus of accolades, hailing Bruton as “a deeply committed politician” who left an indelible mark on Irish politics and international affairs.
