Message for Kinahan gangster, Liam Roe
In an online post, his demise news was cited, “Beloved son of Seamus and the late Ann. Liam will be sadly missed by his loving dad, his heartbroken partner Niamh, adored stepchildren Mia and Ashton, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and a wide circle of friends”.
The message further revealed the details of the funeral along with the home address, the timings, the date and the cemetery where the burial was to take place. He was remembered as ‘bop’.
The local officials have told that Liam Roe was involved in three shootings and the alleged shooting of the rival boss, Brian Rattigan. The three shootings also involved one of the gang members of the rivals along with their leader.
After 2010, he was no longer designated as a foot soldier. He was promoted to being a Kinahan cartel member, moving up their hierarchy chart or ladder. It meant that he himself never got his hands dirty in killings afterwards.
He was also considered one of the suspects in the south Dublin killings in the 2000s era that left 15 men dead. Gardai still suspect that he was among those hit men who entered Rattigan’s home and fired at him.
One of the leaders of the gang, Brian Rattigan and Roe connected and merged their gangs into the Kinahan cartel. In March 2002, it was alleged that Roe was one of the four men who wanted to kill Rattigan in south Dublin.
Rattigan survived and the gunshot just passed by him. However, he later was imprisoned for other offences, such as feud killing and drug dealing, for 18 years.
Roe started off as a gunman in the cartel but quickly got fame as an esteemed Kinahan gangster, he rose to his special rank in 2018 as a “trusted lieutenant”. He was running one of Ireland’s most organised crime groups and led Daniel Kinahan’s empire across Ireland and Europe.
