ALPA Seeks Clarification from Labour Court on Pay Scale Proposals in Aer Lingus Pay Dispute

After meeting yesterday evening to review the proposal, IALPA contacted the Labour Court for clarification on several points, particularly the wording related to structural changes in pay scales. The plan is split among the executive, and the Labour Court’s ruling will ultimately determine whether or not it is approved.

IALPA will conduct a series of informational meetings for its members following receipt of clarification; this process could take up to five days. Following these meetings, an electronic ballot will be conducted, taking an additional three days.

Meanwhile, pilots will continue their work-to-rule action, which has already led to the cancellation of 548 flights up to July 14. The Labour Court’s recommendation, which calls for abolishing pay scales in 2022, doing away with a crewing agreement regarding rostering and summer leave, and cancelling pilot debt owing to the airline, has been approved by Aer Lingus.
