A Late-Night Assault Took Life Of A Man In Tallaght: Gardai Arrested A Suspect

A man in his 20s was killed in a late-night assault in west Dublin state, Tallaght. Gardai have sealed off the entire area in Drumcairn after the attack for technical and forensic examination by the Garda National Technical Bureau. 

Gardai disclosed that the attack took place early morning on Friday. The victim was brought to the hospital right away. Upon reaching, the doctors said that the man was no more.

A man, predicted to be a suspect in the late-night assault, is arrested by the police. He was brought to the station of the city. Gardai implored the people of the vicinity to come forward and get their witness statements recorded, if any. 

Gardai is asking the locals to come forward, especially those who were present at the location between 3 am and 4 am. The spokeswoman of Gardai said that the police are still at the site of the late-night assault. 

The Actual Incident of Late-Night Assault

Early on Friday, July 26, 2024, a guy was discovered at the Tallaght assault scene. He was taken to Tallaght University Hospital right after he was spotted. She added that the man was now pronounced deceased by the doctors. 

The whereabouts of the suspect and the incident are still unknown but a male is arrested as a suspect. The suspect was taken into custody at a Dublin-area Garda Station in accordance with Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act of 1984. He is questioned for the next 24 hours in custody. He is in his 30s. 

The police also urged the locals to come forward with video recordings, motorists having any form of dash cams and the CCTV cameras in the locality to hand over to the police as footage proof. It would help Gardai in further probing into the matter. 

A senior investigation officer is leading the case and is appointed to further scrutinise the matters if any lead comes in. A separate incident room has been established for the said purpose. The State Pathologist is called for a forensic and post-mortem examinations. 

Currently, Gardai is clueless about the motive for the late-night assault. A van was observed standing broken at the scene and they still could not make out what happened at the site. They are attempting to determine whether the van is associated with the incident in any way. 

Moreover, a Garda Family Liaison Officer is assigned to inform the deceased man’s family about the proceedings of the case. The officer informed, “There is no further information available at this time”.
