Similar to similar views, Minister O’Gorman emphasised the need to enhance compensation and benefits to adequately recognize the value of the job done by early childhood educators and school-age childcare providers. He reaffirmed his commitment to further enhancements in pay and conditions, outlining plans to utilise Core Funding to support these initiatives.

The amended Employment Regulation Orders will see minimum hourly rates increase across various roles, marking a significant step towards recognizing and rewarding the dedication of those working in the sector. Additionally, the removal of certain eligibility criteria for graduate rates of pay underscores efforts to widen access to benefits under Core Funding, further supporting the professionalisation and sustainability of the early learning and childcare sector.
