McEvaddy Brothers’ Vision for the Proposed Third Terminal at Dublin Airport

The plan encompasses a third terminal, optimising existing runway and terminal capacity, along with car parks, a logistics park, cargo terminal, hotel, and office space.

Situated between the runways, the McEvaddys deem the location ideal. It was emphasised how important it is to have access to the airport.

This initiative, they assert, surpasses short-term perspectives on passenger numbers, aiming for a sustainable, long-term solution aligned with Fingal County Council’s development strategies.

Critiquing current plans to increase capacity by 20%, the McEvaddys argue for doubling capacity with their proposal, estimating a similar cost.

They envision Terminal 3 not just as a building, but as an investment in Ireland’s connectivity and airport efficiency, fostering global aviation and commercial activity.

In response, daa, which operates Terminals 1 and 2, acknowledges the McEvaddys’ long-standing efforts to sell the land. However, they maintain focus on their own infrastructure application, expressing readiness to engage with future planning considerations.

The fate of Terminal 3 now rests in the hands of planning authorities, as stakeholders weigh competing visions for Dublin Airport’s future.
