Ireland’s Best Restaurant Honoured at the Irish Restaurant Awards 2024
Cork shone brightly at the Irish Restaurant Awards 2024, with Goldie’s head chef, Aishling Moore, taking home the coveted Best Chef award, and Dede at the Customs House in Baltimore being named Best Restaurant. The awards, held at the Clayton Hotel in Dublin, saw nearly 1,200 industry professionals gather to honour Ireland’s top culinary talents.

Highlights from the Irish Restaurant Awards 2024
Aishling Moore, recognised for her sustainable fin-to-gill seafood menus and her newly published cookbook, Whole Catch, brought home the top chef accolade. Dede, co-owned by chef Ahmet Dede and Maria Archer, which boasts two Michelin stars, was celebrated as the best restaurant in the country.
The evening also highlighted notable winners like Lorraine O’Connor of the Muslim Sisters of Eire, who received the Local Food Hero award for her charitable work. Other top honours included La Gordita in Dublin as Best Newcomer and The Bishop’s Buttery at Cashel Palace Hotel as Best Hotel Restaurant.
The Restaurants Association of Ireland’s president, Paul Lenehan, underlined the event’s importance in highlighting and honouring the skill and resiliency found in Ireland’s food and hospitality sector. With over 160,000 public nominations and rigorous judging, the awards showcased the excellence and diversity of Ireland’s culinary scene.
