Dublin is getting ready to party! This weekend, the city is celebrating Lunar New Year 2024 with a roar, welcoming the Year of the Dragon. Get ready for a vibrant mix of Asian and Irish culture, with delicious food, outstanding performances, fun activities, and traditions as old as time.

Activities on the Lunar New Year 2024 in Dublin

The main party’s happening at Meeting House Square in Temple Bar on February 11th, Lunar New Year’s Day. Mark your calendars for this free event from noon until 6 pm – perfect for the whole family! Watch the incredible “Journey of the Dragons,” a collaboration between Lisette Krol, a champion of spectacles, and Lychee, a Vietnamese Irish DJ. See performers from China, Korea, Mongolia, and Taiwan showcase their talents.

Experience the power and grace of lion and dragon dances, learn some cool Tai Chi moves, and even help build a giant dragon head! Get creative with dragon drawings, have your face painted with your zodiac sign, and enjoy music from Chinese folk musicians and Mongolian performers.
