Tragic Crash in Co Donegal

A tragic crash in Co Donegalin has claimed the life of 16-year-old Kian Dawson from Derry city. The teenager was involved in a single-vehicle collision on the R240 near Cross, Quigley’s Point, last night at around 11:15 p.m.

The man in his 20s, the driver of the vehicle, sustained severe injuries and is in critical condition at Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital. 

The route has been shut off by the Gardaí in order to carry out a forensic investigation. 

Any witnesses are being begged by the police to come forward. Anyone with information is advised to contact Buncrana Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Line. Additionally, dashcam footage from the vicinity is being asked for.

Don Boscos, Kian Dawson’s football team, honoured him on Facebook with a sincere post. They described Kian as a “genuine, well-mannered, and unassuming” young man, a credit to both his club and his parents.

The club has suspended all activities in his honour. They expressed their deepest condolences to Kian’s family during this heartbreaking time. 

In a another event in County Donegal, an Inver two-car crash resulted in the hospitalisation of three individuals. The collision happened just before nine in the morning, and Letterkenny University Hospital received the injured. Their current state of health is unknown.
