Trump Appears Publicly for First Time Since Assassination Attempt

After avoiding an assassination attempt two days prior, former President Donald Trump made his first appearance in public on Monday night at the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

On Saturday, during a rally in Pennsylvania, a gunman opened fire, grazing Trump’s right ear. Tragically, one participant perished in the attack, and two more people were gravely hurt. Trump, speaking to ABC News earlier on Monday, expressed that the incident has had a significant impact on him. He intended to take off the bandage by the time he publicly accepted the nomination on Thursday night.

Despite his injury, Trump appeared with a bandage over his ear, greeted warmly by his family and supporters. The Republican National Convention attendees applauded and yelled, “We love Trump, we love Trump.”

During an interview with the New York Post, Trump revealed a large bruise on his right forearm, sustained when Secret Service agents pulled him to the ground and shielded him during the shooting. Reflecting on the incident, Trump said, “I’m supposed to be dead. The hospital’s doctor called it a miracle, claiming he had never witnessed anything such.”

The former president’s resilience and the outpouring of support at the convention highlight the intense political climate as the RNC continues.
