The Gap of Dunloe walk is approximately 11 km long. It is between Kate Kearney’s Cottage and Lord Brandon’s Cottage. The full route has an estimated walking time of 2 to 3 hours. You have the choice of biking, taking a horse-drawn cart (jaunting car), or taking a boat over the adjacent lakes.

The trail passes over five lakes: Coosaun Lough, Black Lake, Cushnavally Lake, Auger Lake, and Black Lough. There are some small stone bridges that connect to the gaps.  One of the small bridges is particularly special.

It is nicknamed the Wishing Bridge. It is said locally that if you make a wish while standing on it, your wish will come true. The Wishing Bridge is located between Coosaun Lough and Black Lake. Many stop here for photos and to take it in.
