Equipped with advanced audio-visual technology, the vans will enable gardaí to communicate effectively at public gatherings and outdoor events. Additionally, they will act as platforms for the dissemination of crucial safety and public advice. The versatile vans can also transport two garda mountain bikes, adding an extra layer of flexibility to the force’s operations.

The Minister of Justice, Helen McEntee, expressed her excitement over the new members during the event, adding, “Government investment in Garda Síochána is now at its highest ever level.” The launch of ten specially designed community engagement vehicles, which will serve as regional mobile garda clinics, fills me with great pleasure.”

Assistant Commissioner, Eastern Region, Paul Cleary emphasised the central role of community engagement in policing in Ireland. He expressed hope that the new vans would become familiar symbols within communities, providing an opportunity for residents to interact with the force on various issues.

“Commissioner Cleary said, “Our capacity to continue being visible and reachable to the people we serve will be strengthened even more by these vans.” “In Ireland, community involvement is the cornerstone of law enforcement.” “We’ll use our Community Engagement Vans for a number of things, but they’ll all increase garda visibility.”

The community-focused approach aligns with the broader strategy of proactive and positive engagement. As the vans are deployed in different regions, gardaí aim to extend their community-based approach, fostering a sense of safety and support among the public.

Justice Minister Helen McEntee, who actively participated in the launch by testing out the new mobile garda stations, highlighted the valuable investment in these vans. The government’s dedication to maintaining the greatest standards of policing in Ireland was emphasised by her statement, “I look forward to seeing them in action across the country.”

As these mobile garda stations become a familiar sight in various regions, the hope is that they will not only enhance security but also serve as accessible hubs for community members to address concerns and engage in positive dialogue with the police force.
