The wait for a more convenient Blanchardstown to Kildare Bus Service is over. The popular bus route 139, connecting Blanchardstown to Naas, is getting a major public transportation upgrade starting next month.

From April 1st, passengers can expect twice the frequency on the 139 route. This means eighteen daily return services, seven days a week – a whole new level of public transport convenience compared to the current schedule.

This enhanced commuter experience is sure to benefit everyone who relies on the route, especially students attending Technological University Dublin’s Blanchardstown campus and Maynooth University.

The program is being spearheaded by the National Transport Authority (NTA). They see the enhanced commuter experience as a means of facilitating and improving the transportation experience for locals and students living in the Blanchardstown to Leixlip area.

JJ Kavanagh & Sons Limited, a well-known Irish transport company, has been awarded the contract to operate the enhanced bus route. Passengers will see the service operate under the familiar “Transport for Ireland” brand. 

Whether you commute frequently or only sometimes, taking the 139 route is still reasonably priced. Leap card users can enjoy fares starting from just €1.25 for adults and €0.65 for children, students, and young adults. Cash payments are also accepted, with rates starting at €1.70 for adults and €0.85 for students and young adults. 

For those eager to take advantage of the improved travel connections, the full timetable is readily available online. So, ditch the stress of traffic jams and parking woes – the 139 route is about to become a much more attractive option for getting around Kildare and Dublin’s west.
