Brazilian Deliveroo rider runs for elections

Brazilian Deliveroo rider Caio Benicio, who gained recognition for intervening in a violent attack on November 23rd, announced his candidacy for Dublin City Council in the North Inner City area. When Benicio saw the attack on three kids and a caregiver outside Coláiste Mhuire in Parnell Square, Dublin, he was a Deliveroo rider. He intervened using his helmet to stop the attacker and prevent further harm.

Brazilian Deliveroo rider aims to help people by running for local office

Following the incident, Benicio was hailed as a hero and a fundraiser for him garnered significant support. Inspired by his newfound role in the community, he has decided to pursue a career in politics as a Fianna Fáil candidate. Benicio believes his involvement in local governance will allow him to continue helping people and making a positive impact.

He aims to represent immigrants, improve road safety, and enhance overall safety in the inner city. His decision has been welcomed by Senator Mary Fitzpatrick, who sees Benicio as a strong voice for Dublin City Council.
