Team Ireland to Receive Hero’s Welcome at GPO Homecoming Event Following Historic Olympic Success
Team Ireland, arriving in Dublin around 1:30 PM, will be welcomed by thousands of fans. Dublin Airport has advised that attendees should head to the city centre rather than the airport to catch a glimpse of the athletes. The event will honour Ireland’s historic achievement of seven Olympic medals, featuring celebrated athletes such as Kellie Harrington, Mona McSharry, and Rhys McClenaghan.
The celebration will also include musical performances by Block Rockin’ Beats and Today FM DJ Dec Pierce, with Kellie Harrington making a special appearance later in the evening near her home.
O’Connell Street and Killarney Street will be closed from 10 AM to 10 PM, impacting public transport. Luas services will be partially suspended, and buses will be diverted. It is recommended that guests heed the instructions of the stewards and the event signage.
