Steve Buscemi, Hollywood Actor, Stepped In To Break Up A Street Brawl Outside Dalkey Pub

Hollywood actor Steve Buscemi, the star of ‘Reservoir Dogs’, stepped in and helped end a street brawl outside a pub in county Dalkey.
Steve Buscemi, the 68 year old star, is known for his roles in Reservoir Dogs, Armageddon and The Big Lebowski. He was spotted eating out at Bubba’s Fish Market in south Dublin on a fine evening on Saturday.
Why Was Steve Buscemi in Dublin?
Buscemi had been staying in Dublin while filming the second season of Wednesday, the Netflix series from Tim Burton starring Jenna Ortega. Production had relocated from Romania to Ireland for the new season.
He went on to play Barry Dort, the new principal of Nevermore Academy, in Wednesday Season 2, which premiered on Netflix in August 2025. Filmed largely in Ireland, the season later revealed Dort’s character to be far more sinister than he first appeared.
No One Recognised Him at First
One customer at the restaurant told the media that no one recognised the star being there with them. The customer also stated that no one from his family recognised the actor but him, as he is a great ‘movies’ fan.
The customer cited details that the star was at a table next to their table for approximately 90 minutes.
What Happened Outside the Dalkey Duck Pub
The customer added that there was an assumption that as Steve Buscemi had left, he must have been gathered around by people, as the star would have gotten noticed by now. However, there was a great crowd looking at a vicious fight going on in the street, and everybody was present to witness what was happening.
He narrated that the fight was taking place just outside the Dalkey Duck pub, and the actor was seen watching the fight from a distance.
Till then, no one had still noticed the star as he was quite unrecognisable, simply standing back. However, as soon as he came close and “stood over the guy on the ground for a few seconds, the fight naturally broke up after that”, he said.
Did Steve Buscemi Actually Break Up the Fight?
Most people disclosed that he was the one who disbanded the street brawl, however this was not quite the case. He just helped as someone from the crowd would have done, the customer explained.
The actor seemed nice to the other people on the road and the customer himself, as he later revealed that “he was nice, friendly and engaging. He looked and talked to me properly”.
The customer hoped he could have told Steve Buscemi that this is not a general representation of Ireland, and that he enjoyed his trip while he was there.
