Defendants Await DPP Directives in Cork Public Order Incidents
There are three ladies and thirteen guys in the group. The charges stem from alleged events that occurred in various locations, including Oliver Plunkett Street and Grand Parade.
The court session was held during a vacation sitting. Judge John King presided over the hearing. For each of the 16 defendants, Sgt. Gearóid Davis produced documentation of their arrest, charge, and warning. However, no specific details of the alleged incidents were disclosed in court.
We’re waiting on additional directives from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). The nature of the charges includes public order offences and, in some cases, assault and drug-related charges.
Godson Ikebundu, 22, from Limerick, is among those charged. He faces two public order offences and one assault charge.
Three individuals from the same address in Glanmire, Cork, face multiple public order charges. They include Martin, Matthew, and Marvin Ekhosuehi.
The defendants were all granted bail. They must, however, avoid the Cork city centre unless they have a doctor’s or lawyer’s appointment.
October 8 is when they are expected in court again. The case continues to develop as the DPP’s directions are awaited.
