Inghams delved into the world of Instagram, analyzing a staggering 104,000 posts to unveil the destinations most frequently described as ‘unspoilt landscapes.’ The results were truly astounding, with Australia coming in second and Iceland taking first place. Surprisingly, Ireland secured a well-deserved third place with an impressive Unspoilt Post Rate of 8.50.
Digging deeper into the data, Donegal emerged as the Irish champion of unspoilt beauty. Social media users were gushing about the emerald green hills, atmospheric lakes, vast mud flats ideal for birdwatching, and wild sandy shorelines. Glenveagh National Park, the island of Arranmore, Killahoey Beach, Slieve League mountain, and the Horn Head peninsula were among the most cited locations, painting a picture of rugged and untamed landscapes that beckon adventurers.
The next spot in Ireland’s pristine paradise was claimed by Ulster, which boasted pristine views of the Atlantic Ocean, the epic Sperrin Mountains, and the nearly inland sea of Strangford Lough. The study also revealed other global destinations that share Ireland’s commitment to preserving natural beauty. Cyprus and Costa Rica rounded out the top five, while Tanzania, New Zealand, Peru, Greece, and Georgia secured their places in the top 10.
