Mother and Daughter Lose Lives in Co Mayo Collision
In a heartbreaking incident, a mother in her 40s and her young daughter have died following a collision between their car and a lorry on the N26 in Co Mayo. The crash occurred at Callow between Foxford and Swinford shortly before 6 pm. The victims, believed to be from central Mayo, were pronounced dead at the scene.

N26 Closed for Co Mayo Collision Investigation
The lorry driver was hospitalised with injuries that are not life-threatening. The N26 remains closed as Gardaí conduct a forensic collision investigation, with diversions in place until further notice. Authorities urge anyone with camera footage from the area between 5 pm and 6 pm to come forward.
In a separate incident, a man in his 50s died in a single-car crash in Co Westmeath, bringing the total number of road fatalities in Ireland this year to 96, an increase of 11 from last year.
