Israeli officials state their intention to steer clear of a full-scale war in Lebanon
Israeli officials have indicated that while Israel aims to strike back against Hezbollah following a deadly rocket attack, they seek to avoid a full-scale war in Lebanon. Twelve children and teenagers were killed in the attack, which took place on Saturday in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. The U.S. is actively working to prevent Israel from targeting key infrastructure and densely populated areas in Lebanon, urging restraint to avoid broader violence.
The situation remains tense with recent developments including an Israeli drone strike in south Lebanon that resulted in several fatalities, including an infant. As both sides navigate heightened hostilities, the international community, including the U.N. and the U.S., is pushing for diplomatic solutions to prevent further escalation. Flights to Beirut have been disrupted as regional tensions continue to rise, underscoring the fragile state of the current conflict.
