It is reported that a “potential VIP visit in mid to late January” has been discreetly communicated to senior gardai. While the decision to declare this event as extraordinary is pending, concerns are escalating among sources who fear the visit might be marred by protests, potentially leading to a repeat of the unrest witnessed during previous Dublin riots.

As king, he has travelled to Northern Ireland twice; the most recent trip being a two-day visit in May with his spouse, Camilla.

“An Garda Siochana is not aware of any formal announcement in respect of any state visit at this time,” a spokeswoman for the agency stated in response to the growing rumors.This statement neither confirms nor denies the visit, leaving the public and authorities on edge as they await further developments.
