Mr Kohli died of the attack at 18:30 BST on Sunday in the hospital where he was admitted for further treatment.
Currently, the identification of the boy is in question because of his age. However, he revealed his name and details of the birth year after being taken in custody. The name of the young boy cannot be disclosed due to legal reasons.
Four more children, including one girl, who was 14 years old and one boy along with two other girls aged 12 years, were taken into custody as suspects. After some time, they were released after asking a few questions.
Grandfather lived near Braunstone Town where his home was located. His post-mortem examination results disclosed that he died of a severe neck injury, still, results of pending tests are awaited.
His family described his love for animals who loved to take his dog for a walk every day. He was described by his family as a “loving, caring person”. They also mentioned how much he enjoyed spending time with and loved his grandchildren.
“He has always been a very hardworking man and even at the age of 80 he was still very active”, they elucidated.
They had tagged him as the joker of the family as he liked to joke around and laughed hard. They regarded ‘allotment’ as one of his passions since he would visit the plots each day to look after them.
In the end, they were thankful for the support and messages overwhelmed with sadness and care since they had been living in the same neighbourhood for the past forty years. The grandfather was well-known to a number of people in the community.
